Instructional Leadership Coach

Deadline:
Tuesday, July 18, 2017
District/Organization:
School Smarts, LLC
Position Details:

I am working on an exciting project to help recruit for senior leaders within Leading Educators, a national nonprofit that partners with schools and districts to transform student outcomes by empowering teacher leaders to lead job-embedded, content-focused cycles of professional learning.

They are going to begin with a cohort of schools in the Grand Rapids area and I am helping them to fill a few key positions.  We are recruiting from Grand Rapids and from other nearby cities-Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Lansing, Mt Pleasant.  I’d love if you could connect me with any possible candidates, particularly candidates of color, or with people who might know possible candidates

The three positions that I’m recruiting for are:

  •  Leadership Coach, who is responsible for coaching participants in the Leading Educators Fellowship in instructional leadership that drives student achievement. The ideal candidate has demonstrated significant and measurable student academic achievement results in a high needs school as an instructional leader (Principal, Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, Department Chair) and has strong content knowledge in either Math or English/Language Arts
  • Associate Director, who is responsible for developing and cultivating relationships at the district level.  This person has a knack for operating at a strategic level and has operational experience.  S/he will also partner with the Program Director to create and support overall program growth and development.  An ideal candidate will have some teaching or school-based experience and is likely to have served as a chief of staff or other senior operational/strategic role.
  •  Program Coordinator, who serves as the interface between Leading Educators and the district leaders, principals, teacher leaders, teachers and builds and sustains positive, productive professional relationships with teacher leaders by ensuring frequent communication from program staff and providing logistical support to all program events to enhance their overall experience.

The organization is deeply committed to supporting employees and has a culture characterized by growth and acceptance. They take their core values seriously and are doing some deep work in the area of equity. The compensation and benefits are outstanding and they offer flexibility in scheduling.  They are really looking for the strongest talent they can find.  Additionally, they believe in ensuring that their employees are cared for and take care of themselves.  It is a great place to work and could offer someone a tremendous opportunity to take the next step in their career.  All of these positions also interface with the national team and with their colleagues in other cities (New Orleans, Kansas City, Memphis, DC.) The organization has a strong career ladder and I expect both, the individuals in these positions and the organization as a whole, to continue to grow.
