Position Details: 


Provide a full range of student services, along with coordinating the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support program in our school district.  Responsibilities include assessing and meeting the needs of students, providing classroom-based, group, and individual social/emotional support; monitoring student performance; as needed or requested consulting with the instructional staff to assist them in providing strategies for student emotional and behavioral growth; attending IEP/child study meetings and contributing to the IEP process including writing goals and objectives and recommending service time and frequency; evaluating students for special education services; communicating with a student’s family; and coordinating with other social service resources.  This description may adjust per the candidate and certifications.



  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with school personnel, employees and central office staff.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal, state and local policies and procedures regarding counseling and social work services.
  • Knowledge of outside agencies which offer services for students and families.
  • Considerable knowledge of the ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organization and/or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignment.
  • Comply with confidentiality requirements in local, state and federal policies.
