JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE: Instructional Facilitator

LOCATION: S.T.E.A.M Academy at MLK

SUPERVISOR: Building Principal

 

JOB SUMMARY:   

A candidate in this position will serve as a building Instructional Coach to support teachers and build leadership capacity throughout the District. He/she will analyze data to inform instructional decisions that impact the academic growth of students.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Education required.
  • Have at least five years of successful teaching experience.
  • Possess a broad knowledge of curriculum, curriculum development and best instructional practices.
  • Strong academic preparation and leadership ability.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet the challenges of an urban school district.
     

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in collaboration with the alignment of curriculum and instruction in the district.
  • Lead the coordination and planning of professional development for instructional staff.
  • Supervise the instructional coaches in the District.
  • Work as an Instructional  Coach for the teaching staff.
  • Assist with the facilitation of the School Improvement Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned, as outlined in the grant

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with the public in tactful and courteous manner,  and to work harmoniously with everyone.
  • Ability to work with students with a variety of learning styles.
  • Proficient in the use of technology.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

 

Terms of Employment:

200 day contract.  Salary range based on experience
