Roundtable Strategies
Position Details: 

Roundtable is seeking a person with a background in special education, a professional demeanor, polished customer service skills, and excellent writing and oral communication skills who can work independently and with staff to increase awareness of SEMS services. Activities will include:


* Establishing working relationships between SEMS and potential program users (e.g., parent support groups, ISDs and their member school districts)

* Developing outreach opportunities to promote SEMS services

* Coordinating outreach activities with the CDRP centers

* Representing SEMS at regional seminars and conferences statewide


The work will involve travel to school districts in the counties of Sanilac, Lapeer, St. Clair, Macomb, Oakland, Wayne, Livingston, Washtenaw, Monroe, Lenawee, Jackson and Hillsdale. The selected individual will serve as an independent contractor.


Qualification include:

* Experience with or education in special education

* A passion for fostering teamwork among parents and educators who make decisions to improve educational outcomes for students with disabilities

* Excellent multitasking and organizational skills

* Experience with PC computer environments

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

* Ability to work in a home-office setting with Internet access

* Personal car, insurance and valid drivers’ license

* Mediation training a plus. Otherwise, selected individual must take 40-hour general mediator training and 16-hour special education mediator training after contracting at program expense


The work will start at 20 hours per week.
