REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, specifications, building and safety codes, boiler operations, HVAC, fire protection systems and general building trades
  • Certification in or the ability to acquire:
  • Designated Person Certification, Asbestos
  • Transportation Supervisor Certification
  • SECS Inspector Certification
  • Storm Water Management Certification
  • MSBO Facilities Manager Certification

 

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in custodial, maintenance, facility management or related areas
  • Previous experience in a supervisory capacity preferred
  • Bachelors Degree in related field preferred

 

 

MAJOR AREAS OF

RESPONSIBILITY:

Directs the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the school district’s facilities maintenance and operations program to ensure a safe and efficient learning and working environment. This includes establishing and maintaining a program of operational excellence in building maintenance and repair, custodial services, grounds care, facility security, safety programs, health/code/MIOSHA compliance and district utilities operations.

 

 

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of all maintenance, grounds, and transportation personnel
  • Confer with district administrators to plan and maintain landscaping, playgrounds, and athletic facilities
  • Confer with district administrators on transportation incidents that involve student behavior
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of all custodial personnel in cooperation with building principals
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of all transportation personnel
  • Develop and implement a long-range facilities plan including a perpetual preventative maintenance program
  • Develop and implement systems to organize and monitor work requests
  • Establish and maintain an inventory of equipment, parts and supplies
  • Establish and maintain a file of building specifications, blueprints, equipment specifications, service manuals and warranties
  • Make recommendations and assist in planning new construction, major repairs, and renovations
  • Prepare and administer the budget for maintenance, custodial, grounds, and transportation
  • Prepare cost estimates, written bid specifications, make recommendations and oversee implementation of contracted work
  • Maintain records and follow federal, state and local laws related to maintenance & safety of facilities and maintenance and safety of the transportation fleet
  • Provide necessary training for employees
  • Conduct the hiring process, define and communicate roles and expectations, and evaluate job performance for all department personnel
  • Perform duties in accordance with district policy, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Maintain frequent and effective communication with school administrators to meet needs of educational and co-curricular, education programs
  • Promote and demonstrate behaviors that build positive employee morale and a culture of mutual respect
  • Develop effective goals for the department consistent with the District’s Vision and Mission

 

 

SALARY:

$60,000 - $64,000, full benefit package

 

 

WORK YEAR:

50 Weeks, beginning July 1, 2018
