TITLE:           Latchkey Caregiver          

           

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High school diploma.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Experience working with children 5-12 years old preferred.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification Preferred.
  • Completion of background check and Department of Human Service clearance as well as fingerprinting required before start date.

 

 

REPORTS TO:        Program Director

 

SUPERVISES:        

 

JOB GOAL: Latchkey caregivers provide before and after school care for Fraser students in Grades K-6. Latchkey caregivers work a split shift: Monday –Friday 7:00am-8: 30am and 3:30pm-6:00pm

           

 

 

 ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Follow school and licensing procedures.
  2. Be aware of safety issues and emergency procedures.
  3. Prepare latchkey room before children arrive and organize after they leave.
  4. Prepare and maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment.
  5. Assist with recording daily attendance of children.
  6. Assist with ordering and providing snacks to the children.
  7. Have positive Interactions and provide activities for children individually and in groups.
  8. Maintain good communication with children, parents and other staff.
  9. Participate in supervising free play and outdoor play.
  10. Must be available for additional hours when the elementary schools have early dismissals and half days.
  11. Participate in a minimum of 16 training hours per year.
  12. Regular and reliable attendance.
  13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the director

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  School year

 

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the director or supervisor.
