3-Year grant funded position


Coordinate and assist in implementing educational supports to promote the continuous improvement process for schools and districts in Kalamazoo County to positively impact student growth and achievement.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide consulting and coordinate activities related to continuous improvement, state requirements, accountability, instructional practice, curriculum development, program evaluation, and the comprehensive needs assessment process
  • Develop and monitor supports and services to schools and districts identified by the state as targeted or comprehensive support schools
  • Provide leadership to local schools and districts in the school and district improvement and evaluation process in coordination with planning and development of state and federal programming
  • Identify, implement, and monitor evidence-based practices for rapid-turnaround
  • Promote and facilitate the use of data for decision-making at the classroom, building, and district levels
  • Support and facilitate data analysis in identifying casual theories and root cause to identify evidence-based strategies and activities that strengthen student growth and achievement
  • Organize, plan and conduct professional learning and training opportunities and training resources for teachers and administrators with the goal to help them improve their effectiveness as educators
  • Support and monitor the implementation and facilitation of the instructional/collaborative learning cycle through training and coordination related to formative assessment
  • Provide training, consultation, and supports to local school and district personal to facilitate implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
  • Work collaboratively with content areas consultants and the overall educational system to eliminate barriers to the continuous improvement process and promote systems that increase student growth and achievement
  • Other duties as assigned



Master’s degree. Michigan teacher certification. Minimum three years combined K-12 teaching and administrative experience. Demonstrated skill and experience in school and district improvement. Demonstrated skill and experience in state and federal programs. Demonstrated consultation, training, and group facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into professional activities. Demonstrated skills working with diverse populations. Demonstrated problem solving and team building skills. Demonstrated ability to meet stringent deadlines. Demonstrated listening, verbal, and written communication skills and presentation skills. Embraces and supports KRESA philosophies related to diversity, inclusiveness and anti-racism. Ability to interact effectively with individuals from a wide range of cultures. Ability to discuss cultural differences with colleagues and clients. Ability to assess one’s own strengths and limitations or challenges and integrate this understanding into interpersonal interactions.


Preferred Skills:

Experience directly involved in school improvement planning, implementing, measuring, and tracking results in the school improvement process and demonstrating positive results. Ability to select and develop appropriate methods, skills and techniques attuned to people's cultural, multicultural or marginal experiences in their environments. Ability to effectively employ multicultural approaches in resolving problems.
