Elementary Social Worker/Counselor

Job Description:   

Help students, school staff and parents identify social, emotional and behavioral needs that interfere with learning and work with students to provide necessary services

Master's of Social Work (MSW) and Michigan School Social Worker (SSW) Endorsement or
Bachelor’s Degree with Michigan School Counselor License (SCL) or Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in guidance and counseling (NT)

CPI and CPR Certifications Preferred

Performance Requirements:

· Organizes a program that addresses local school social work goals

· Analyzes and interprets information to make recommendations regarding the need for School Social Work Services

· Collaborates/Consults with classroom teachers and staff  in the management of School Social Work needs

· Plans evidenced-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students

· Promotes effective interpersonal relations with students

· Engages in continuing education and professional growth activities related to School Social Work         education

· Seeks assistance of teachers, parents and others to meet the needs of students


Terms of Employment:

Full-Time position, 190 contractual days.  Position will be associated with the Michigan (ORS) Retirement System and insurance benefits.  Salary commensurate with experience, $40,000-$48,000.

Position available beginning with the  2018-2019 school year

Daily hours will be 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday
