Position Details: 

Position: Principal

  • Grades 5-12 (Approximately 820 students)
  • 41 Teachers and 7 educational assistants
  • 1 Counselor
  • 2 Social Workers
  • 2 Assistant Principals
  • Athletic Director
  • 4 secretaries


Required Qualifications:

  • Possess an advanced degree, Masters or higher, from an accredited institution with emphasis in educational leadership, school administration and/or curriculum or other related field.
  • Possess or immediately qualify for a Michigan Permanent/Continuing or Professional Teaching Certificate and a Michigan School Administrator Certificate.
  • Meet administrator continuing education requirement (complete six semester credit hours, 150 SCECH’s, 150 DPPD hours, or a combination of these within the previous five-year time period).
  • Experience in school administration preferred.
  • Three years or more experience as a teacher.
  • Proven instructional leader.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of the school improvement process and other appropriate leadership experiences.
  • Experience with staff evaluations.

Compensation: The compensation package for this position will be determined by the professional preparation, administrative experience, and other qualifications of the person selected ($85,000 - $94,000).
