Title:   Technology Coordinator

Reports To:    Executive Director of Finance and Operations

Employment Status: Full-Time; Non-Union



  • Four year degree in related field (preferred) or equivalent field experience
  • Expertise in operating large databases, i.e. student information and Single Record Student database
  • Expertise in configuring and maintaining IP network switching hardware for both wired and wireless infrastructure
  • Expertise with data back-up systems
  • Experience with installing /configuring/troubleshooting hardware and software in an educational setting
  • Experience with network operating systems including Windows, Linux, and iOX platforms
  • Experience with installing/configuring and troubleshooting network security appliances and firewalls
  • Experience with the Google and Office 365 cloud platforms
  • Maintain system/network information documentation
  • Maintain district webpages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to explain technical details to non-technical district staff
  • Ability to assist users and trainers with software and hardware direction, guidance, and vision-setting
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to use analytical and problem solving skills and to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and accurately with significant volume of detail
  • Positive working relationships with student, staff, parents, and the community


Essential Duties:

The Technology Coordinator shall serve under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of Finance and Operations and shall be responsible for the following specific duties:


  • Design, install and manage network systems
  • Install, repair, and maintain network and computers, technology devices, computer peripherals and audio/video components
  • Secure Intranets
  • System analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications
  • Design, develop, document, analyze, create, test or modify computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications
  • Supervise the system wide inventory of technology assets
  • Assist in the hiring and orientation of all technology personnel
  • Conduct an annual review and update of the district technology in conjunction with the Technology Committee
  • Oversee the plan for maintenance, repair and replacement of district hardware and software
  • Plan and direct the acquisition and processing of new materials, and disposal of outdated technology hardware and software
  • Assist in maintaining the district technology support center.  The center will be an area in which staff can call for support and maintenance on all hardware and software.
  • Research new instructional technology and assess for possible district use
  • System Administrator for the districts Internet connection, email system and VoIP servers
  • Assist with technology planning efforts including activities to develop, implement, and evaluate both system and school technology plans
  • Oversee Auditorium and the Auditorium Manager
  • Chair District Technology Committee
  • Attend county technology meetings and bring information back to the district
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Executive Director of Finance and Operations
