Position Details: 

Education and Experience
 
1. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.  
 
2. Highly Qualified in Math (EX) and Science (DX) preferred.

3. Minimum 4 years teaching experience.

Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned
 
 1. Works with teachers and administrators to develop a vision for professional development.
 
 2. Attends relevant workshops and shares information with teachers.
 
 3. Serves as a resource to colleagues, providing expertise in assessment, differentiated instruction, best practices in math/ science instruction.
 
 4. Provides instructional leadership in math/ science
 
 5. Works collaboratively with colleagues and administrators to use data to identify department needs in terms of professional development.
 
 6. Collects data and provides reports outlining student achievement and the success of the position over time.
 
 7. Provides in-class professional developments for math/ science teachers, as well as other content area teachers.
 
 8. Assists teachers in understanding early math/ science skills for non and low level readers.
 
 Qualifications: 
 
1. Ability to build strong rapport with teachers and students 
 
2. Strong communication skills 
 
3. Strong research and data analysis skills 
 
4. Ability to build consensus among adults 
 
5. Strong peer relationship skills 
 
6. Strong grasp of literacy instruction and best practices. 
 
7. Strong understanding of the Common Core Standards for Literacy and Michigan Science Standards.
