Position Details: 

Job Description: Working with high school students in grades 9-12 to implement the Michigan Comprehensive Guidance & Counseling Program. Responsible for organizing and implementing required standardized testing to include (but not limited to) the MME, in a timely and efficient manner. Must be able to interpret test results for use in education/career planning with students and parents. Ability to counsel small groups and individual students based on specific needs. Ability to provide classroom lessons and consult with teachers, staff and parents to meet academic needs of students. Facilitate student course requests and ability to support development of the master schedule. Coordinate programs for students and parents such as freshman orientation and Financial Aid Night. Will lead school programs or initiatives, such as college, career, and planning programs. Should participate in evening or weekend programs hosted by the Counseling Department.

Start Date: 2017-2018 School Year

Rate of Pay: Per Negotiated Contract

Minimum Qualifications: Valid Michigan Guidance Counselor License or Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an (NT) Endorsement Masters in Guidance and Counseling Minimum one year teaching experience. 

Preferred Qualifications: Counseling experience working with high school students Ability to work with students and parents regarding education and career planning Experience administering standardized testing in school
