Position Details: 

Position Summary:  Support and/or lead efforts across the county and with local school districts to transform teaching and learning within the classroom through the innovative use of digital technologies.  Design and conduct professional learning opportunities for educators.


Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Lead local and regional projects or initiatives.
  • Design and conduct professional learning opportunities for educators.
  • Connect Digital Learning work with content areas as well as Literacy, Project-based Learning, STEM/STEAM/STREAM, UDL, Curriculum, and Assessment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues at Oakland Schools to offer services and products to local districts.
  • Consult and/or collaborate with local school administrators, teachers, and staff regarding instructional use and strategies for implementation of digital technologies.
  • Consult and/or collaborate with colleagues at Oakland Schools regarding instructional use and strategies for implementation of digital technologies.
  • Serve as a resource to school personnel, external agencies, professional organizations and others.
  • Maintain knowledge of current research, leading edge developments, and legal mandates related to assigned focus areas.
  • Participate in educational, professional, and government committees as directed.


Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology or a related field.
  • Valid Teaching Certificate.
  • Five or more years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership infusing instructional technology in the core content areas.
  • Ability to design standards-based professional learning experiences for educators.



  • Ability to properly utilize and enhance tools and equipment necessary in conducting professional learning experiences. The incumbent is also required to properly operate required office equipment such as a personal computer, fax machine, copier and the like.


In addition to the qualification requirements set forth in this job description, the incumbent is also required to meet the “Key Work Competencies” expectations of Oakland Schools.

Employment Terms:

Twelve month work year. Salary based on the Progression Increment Salary System, Market Range 15 with an annual salary range of 91,938 to $105,125.
